[Prologue Unit 4] Preparing for Sci-Fi Weekender

At the Sci-Fi Weekender this year, I'm going to be filming a documentary, which is intended to prepare me for my final major, for which I intend to make a mockumentary. I'll be taking along a camera, charger and two SD cards, and will be filming more-so behind the scenes footage, as opposed to last year which was more of a promotional video - focusing on the event itself and the celebrities there edited to Freedom by Modestep. I want this to be the polar opposite - no backing music, nor any of the fantastical things at the event. Instead, just me and my friends doing stuff around the site. Almost like a vlog, but edited in a more professional / documentary-like manner. The focus will likely be on my friends rather than myself, documenting their actions as they narrate to the camera.

2016's Sci-Fi Weekender video:

I'll be taking with me a DSLR Canon 600D and one 64GB SD card and one 32GB SD card, and one person in the group I'm going with will be taking their laptop, so I have some extra space there too, and a way to check through the footage is need-be.

I want to leave myself open to new ideas when I'm at the event. While I have been to all previous Sci-Fi Weekenders, I want the video to feel like its the first time I've been, as if its an adventure. In many films, such as Transformers, the audience requires a character who is being introduced to the plot so they have somebody they can connect to. This means that the supporting characters can explain specific plot elements and exposition to the protagonist, like a proxy for the audience.
